Rarely do I splurge on clothes and accessories. Way back when, I remember saving up all my money to buy a juicy hoody (oh yeah, cue giggles) for $200 and would hand over the money to the big lady behind the cash register like it was burning a hole in my wallet. Now a days, let's just say said lady would have to play a little game of tug of war with me.
That being said, there is one thing my amazing mommy taught me about the rules of shopping, and it's that quality trumps quantity almost every single time (oh boy - in how many other instances of life does this come in handy!). Which is why when I saw these Steve Madden Lindley boots, my heart melted and I knew that regardless of the price I had to have them. The soft leather, the amazing sole (perfect for Canadian winters), the gorgeous red zipper. So there I have it, quality, these babies better last a life time, or at least you know, five years or so. It also helps that I feel pretty bad ass in em'

oh boy Canadian winters... they are brutal, aren't they? I bought the Seychelles Platinum Boots last year and have been afraid to wear them in snow! I need something to protect the leather from the salt and the... salt. And slush. And everything else. God what I wouldn't give to live someplace that had really good snow clearing. I guess it's hard in NFLD because we get so much of it. Everywhere. And the roads here don't make any sense! I could go on forever and ever...
These boots are gorgeous, by the way. Beautiful... I love the red zipper in the back too! Ahhh! It's definitely better to buy good quality. I am only just realizing this.
This whole outfit is gorgeous. I love your blouse! I'm so sad--I vacationed to go shopping, and just like home, there's no Zara or H&M anywhere close. I guess I'm not destined to see inside those stores... haha

I agree. I use to want all the name brand stuff, I still do. But I am definitely a Gabriel Brothers or TJMax girl now. However, I still would rather have a good pair of shoes that will last me more than one season, then 5 pairs of Payless shoes that will be ruined after a couple wears. (I think you look like Demi Lovato in these pics)

I almost bought the same boots or a very similar version last year. I ended up with my BOC black boots with yellow contrast stitching instead. I live in New England an quality boots are a must. You look lovely. Enjoy those boots!

I was all about the skirt, but I could never find it in my size. (why can't h&m just set up shop online already like the rest of the world?) I seriously contemplated the scarf as well, but I forced myself not to OD, haha.

I love the boots. I've been wanting to get them for the past year and I'm hoping to finally get them before Christmas. I just have a quick question, how tall are you?? I heard that if you're not 5'6", the boots fit right at your knee and start to get uncomfortable. Would you recommend them for a girl who is 5'4"?
